Tasks for you - application
My dears, it is time to start with the application and the programme of our exchange.
at the beginning some files which migh you useful for you:
a) application form
b) programme guide - information which consider our project are mostly rfom page 24
And now list of all those things which has to be done. Some of them urgently, some after other are compleated. I count on you. If you feel you are able to do something - please sign up. It has to be our project.
TO DO LIST:
1) Title of the project - it has to be catchy, fancy, sexy and short! and we have to have it fast. Any ideas?
2) Project partners - we are still missing one but Carol is working on this
3) Preliminary Project Agreement - so called part III, each partner organization has to fill out this document and signed and stemped send it to Pedro. We cannot do it untill we will have title of the project. But for now I need one person per organization who will be in charge of contacting organziation and sending part III to Spain.
4) Writing programme - thats somehow task for all. There is already post about programme and you can add all your ideas. I would like to establish working group of minimum 3 people who will together collect ideas and make draft of the programme. Who is in?
5) Writing the application - I hope some of you would like to join writing application. It is very easy, and to facilitate the process even more you can download my last application from "Time for Dialogue". So we have following parts to write:
a) Objectives and priorities (Please explain the context, the origin and the objectives of your project and in which way it meets the objectives and the priorities of the Youth in Action Programme.) - more info about objectives you will find in my first post (first post on blog)
b) Partnership - how you found the other promoter(s), how you established an efficient partnership, and how the partner(s) will cooperate and be involved in the project
c) theme - the theme(s) of the project (so eco&art, but it has to be nicly described)
d) activities - the activities foreseen throughout the project for its implementation, including preparatory and evaluation activities (we can do it after compleating the programme)
e) Protection and safety - Please describe how your project ensures the protection and safety of young people involved
f) Advance Planning Visit - please indicate proposed programme, dates and venue
g) Project's content and methodology:
- how the main theme reflects the interests and needs of participants,
- the working methods,
- how the planned activities and working methods will contribute to the process of non-formal learning and to the promotion of social and personal development of young people involved in the project,
- how the young people will be actively involved in each stage of the project
h) Intercultural dimension - Please indicate if and how your project reflects the following characteristics:
- the project increases young people's positive awareness of other cultures,
- the project supports dialogue and intercultural encounters with other young people from different backgrounds and cultures,
- the project helps to prevent and combat prejudice, racism and all attitudes leading to exclusion,
- the project develops sense of tolerance and understanding of diversity.
i) Impact, multiplying effect and follow-up - Please explain the expected impact on young participants and the local communities involved in the project and which measures are foreseen to attain this impact. In a long term perspective, please describe how you plan to achieve a multiplying effect and sustainable impact. Please also explain how you plan to follow up this Youth Exchange (e.g. new projects within the framework of the Youth in Action Programme, continuous contact with the promoter(s), etc.)?
j) Visibility - Apart from the compulsory use of the Programme Logo (cfr. Part C, Publicity, of the Programme Guide), please describe: how you will ensure the visibility of the project and how your project will provide clear promotional added value for the Youth in Action Programme.
k)Dissemination and exploitation of results - Please give a detailed description of standard measures planned in view to disseminate and exploit the results of the project

Program of our project
In order to writte application we have to prepare programme. Once more the question is how to do that. I have that suggestion that we can establish the working group who will prepare the programme and main concept of the project.
Before that all of you who have any ideas for activities please describe it here, as a commnets. After all the working group will read it all and try to build interesting programme.
So go one... its time to work a bit:)

Leaders in da project
We have only one month more to write the project. Therefore it is time to decide who will take over the responsibility of being the leader of national group. There are some ideas who should become a leader:
1) stay with the some leaders as in Time for Dialogue in Poland
2) choose totally new people with small experience which will fulfil goals of this project much better
3) choose as a leaders those people who are the most active.
Being honest I really like the idea of choosing fresh people for leaders. My idea and my goal behind this project is to make it as participative as possible and I would be so happy if new people with smaller experience will take more responsibility
What is the role/tasks of the leader:
1) be in touch with other leaders
2) meet with participants before advance planning visit and collect ideas for the project
3) participate in advance planning visit
it is not like that, that leaders will prepare project by themselfs and will lead all workshops. The idea behind being the leader is to meet with the group, collect all the ideas , proposals and so one and then on the meeting with other leaders put it all together, collect all ideas choose the best once and fix the program.
Of course you can count on everybody's help!
Well just there is one person who has to be a leader in order to come - Stas from LV because he will be over 26 next march:)

Which project - time to decide
We need to start working on something. There are to main ideas, directions where to go. For our project there are two main ideas which we can develop. So read it, think which one you like, vote on that on the pool on the left and comment if you have any comments!
1. Holidays project
The idea is to organize the project just before Eastern in Malaga. In the south of Sapin there are a lot of celebrations during the whole week before on the streest, as far as I know is really colorfull and it is something worth seeing.
So the main topic of your exchange can be holidays, we can focus on some different celebrations on different holidays, well - idea can be develop. Any ideas?
2. Eco&Art project
The idea of that was created sitting and smoking shisha on the dead sea. We wanted to focus on eco problems - because a lot of people are not aware of that. So we thought that we can do an exchange that mornings we will do some workshops and talk about or climate change, or trash or other nice issue:) and afternoons participants will have some photo task - for example observe the customers habbits of malaguenos and take a photos of that; or try to take a photo of good habbits of dealing with wastes. So afternoons will be always outside going around and taking a photos of special topic. Someting practical.
3. Something else
If you have any good ideas we can think about it so go one...

1. The motivation and background
As I wrote almost all of you before, the decision that we will do the project was done on the way to the Dead Sea in Jordan; I was sitting in the car with Carol and we were talking and we said that cannot be the end; we knew also how much you get friends with each other and we said - we will do the project. We sit down, smoke shisha, drank a beer and wrote the draft of the project.
I came to Poland, typed the draft, send around, Ania contacted Pedro (spanish coordinator) who will be in charge because we want to do the project in Malaga. He said why not, but he offer one more idea, why don't we make a project during Easter Holidays in Spain - there is colorfull that time and very interesting.
Well, sounds good, therefore once sitting and drinking with Ania in bar in Poland, we thought OK, exchange in Spain maybe about holidays, but we have a great art&eco project we wrote in Jordan, so we decided to do it in Latvia during summer time. As I talked to Ieva - she is interested and we will also do it:)
So that is what we have so far. There will me a lot to do for you now.
2. Where and when
We said about ideas for 2 exchanges - first in Spain and second in Latvia, but maybe at first focus on this in Spain. We would love to do it in the beginning of April, just before the Eastern in the catolc church. The project will be of course in Malaga and I am sure that everyone knows a lot about Malaga (well whole APV before Time for Dialogue - was about Malaga, Malaguenos, Malagueta, bars in Malaga, city plan of Malaga, where is what, where did we lived in Malaga and so one)
So Malaga, beginning of April 2009
3. The first idea
There is the idea which we can develop. We were thinking to make an exchange about different holidays (either religious or national) and we wanted to make it during Eastern in Spain because that is worth seeing. With the topic we were very practical, we thing we have better chances that the project will be accepted because Eastern are once a year and we would not be able reapply for the next deadline:) So I would like us to go in this direction and the rest is up to us
4. Your participation
the most important thing - what I want to have is to have OUR project - not that one person will do everything and the rest will just come. The idea of Youth in Action programme is to involve as many people as possible from the very beginning and we can plan it together:)
After the conversation with few people we agreed that it would be great to have the first list of participants while applying (of course it might be change because of different reasons, like someone cant come because... ).
So think if you want to participate in preparation to our reunion project and the project itself, let us know and get involve in preparation.
5. Project preparation
We have to start somehow. The result of our preparation should be an application on the special form send to the spanish national agency and hopefully accepted. There are to main things that we have to do in order to write application. First agree on objectives, and those objectives should meet objectives of youth in action programme, secondly we need to discuss activities, so what we want to do during the exchange and we have to do the table for each day with all activities and the aim of each activity:D you can find the example of table in attachment.
basing on objectives and activities the application is almost ready.
important is that we should finish with that till 25th of July, because then Ania is going to Malaga to meet Pedro and they have to finalize the application or discuss the details.
6. Objectives
To discuss our objectives you should know the objectives of grant giver because to get fundings our objectives have to meet:) So please read it:)
general objectives:
* promotes young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;
* develops solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in the European Union
* fosters mutual understanding between young people in different countries
* contributes to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field
* promotes European cooperation in the youth field
Permanent thematic priorities
a) European Citizenship
b) Participation of young people
c) Cultural diversity
d) Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities
Specific priorities for Spain:
a) European year of intercultural dialogue
b) fighting contra gender violence
c) Sport as a tool of support of citizenship acitivites and social integration of young people
d) Preparation for year 2009: year of innovation and creativity and year of elections to european parliament
7. Activities
OK, the most important thing is what we are going to do during the project. Well integration is already behind us and partying and drinking only will not be accepted by Spanish National Agency and we will not get money for that. SO we have to brainstorm what to do and do it:)
in attachment there is a wonderful matrix, table which should be attach to each application with description of all activities each day. And thats our task for now, the most important one, fill it out!
8. What to do now
Well it is time for action.
what I will need from you for sure it is:
a) a declaration who wants to be involved and participate in the project, and what can you do.
b) brainstorm about the project - write your ideas
c) discuss the ideas of other people
d) organize yourself and prepare some draft of the programme
remember everyone can join brainstorming:)
9. Partners and leaders
In some countries it is quite clear who will be the partner organization and who will be a leader, but there is not so many of that countries. So please from each country - Jordan, Egypt, Latvia and Poland - please discuss through which organziation we will apply and who is going to be a group leader (remember that group leader is the main contact person and this person should come for preparation meeting before exchange).
If you need any information for your organziation about the project, also let me know (but take under the consideration that I know only this what is in this e-mail)

As well we are missing one meda country, because unfortunately we are not able to work with our turkish partner any more. As far as I know Abdallah had some ideas for a good meda partners. Well we need to also take care about this.
